The End Times & Last Day/Hour Disclaimer: 1. Future events are determined solely by Allah and known only to Allah and those whom he chooses. We do not claim that Allah is letting us know the predictions we make on this site. The predictions, that we make, represent our opinion which is based on our own analysis. We do not claim that any future event will definitely or certainly occur, unless it is prophesied in the Quran or in a valid Hadith. Furthermore, even when a future event is prophesied in the Quran or Hadith, we do not claim that it will definitely or certainly occur on a specific date or specific year. That is why we use terms such as "likely", "possibly", "may", "could", etc. when we make a prediction about future events. 2. No one (except Allah & whomever Allah chooses) knows when the Day of Resurrection or Day of Judgement will occur. In this section of the web site, we do not make any predictions regarding when Day of Resurrection or Day of Judgement will happen. All the predictions presented in this section are about the Signs that precede the Hour/Day of Resurrection, but not the Hour/Day of Resurrection itself. Signs of that day have been mentioned by Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and in the Quran.
1. The life of this Umma (Muslim Nation) "The life of this Umma (Muslim nation) will exceed 1000 years, yet will be limited to 1500 years." (Muhammad Barzanji, Al-Isha`ah li Ashrat as-Sa`ah, p. 299) The "life of this Umma" likely means the time span until God sends a pleasant wind that takes the souls of good people which is known as rapture. The Day of Resurrection (Last Day) may happen several years later. So, Muslims will cease to exist before year 1500 Hijri which is year 2077 AD. However, Islam started 12 years before the Hijra (migration of Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to Medina), so this should also be taken into consideration. In one of his hadiths, our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم draws attention to the significance of a new century's beginning, as follows: "Since the world came into existence, at the beginning of every century an important event occurred. At the beginning of one century, the Dajjal will emerge and Jesus [peace be upon him], the son of Mary will descend and kill him." (Ibn Abi Hatim) The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم :"People will gather around the Mahdi in the fourteen hundreds." (Risalat Khuruj Al-Mahdi, p. 108) In another hadith, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Count two or three decades after 1400 Hijri. At that time, the Mahdi emerges..." (Qalda bin Zayd bin Baraka, Asma Masalik Li Ayyam Mahdi: Malik Li Kull id-Dunya Bi Amr Allah El-Malik, p. 216)
2. The Prophet told the Companion about all Future Events "The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم... informed us about the events that will happen from then on, and he taught us them (events) and made us memorize them." (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
Huzaifa ibn Al-Yaman said the following: Huzaifa reported: " The Messenger of God took a stand among us in which he did not omit anything that will occur in that place of his up to the occurrence of the Hour without narrating it. Whose got it to memory remembered it, and whose did not remember it forgot it. These companions of mine learnt it, and there will occur something there from which I forgot. When it was shown to me, I remembered it just as a man remembers the face of a man when he remains absent from him, and when afterwards he sees him, he remembers him." (Mishkat-ul-Masabih, vol.4, p.3)

إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ
سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ Abu Huraira said: "I have memorized from the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم two containers (containing two types of Hadith & knowledge). One of them, I have propagated. The other one, if I propagate it, my throat will be cut off (he will be killed)." (Sahih Bukhari) Classical commentators such as Imam Bin Hajr al Asqalani (rah) in his book Fat'h Al-Bari mention that the second type knowledge withheld by Abu Huraira most likely consists of details and dates of future events, wars, and Fitan, including names of future leaders and evil individuals.
3. Three Important Individuals Muslims expect 3 important individuals to appear, before the Day of Judgment, in the following order: (a) Al-Mahdi, (b) The Dajjal (Anti-Christ), (c) Jesus Christ. Before the appearance of Sunni Muslims' Al-Mahdi, we may witness the rise of one or more Shia leader Two of them are good men: (a) Al-Mahdi ( Muslims could be ruled by a series of Caliphs, not just the Mahdi ), and (b) Jesus Christ. The third man is the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) will certainly be an evil man. Dajjal means the Deceiver. It is worth noting that the Shia are expecting Imam Mahdi who, as portrayed in Shia's books, seems to be an evil man whom the Shia expect will persecute Sunni Muslims, resurrect and crucify Prophet Mohammad's صلى الله عليه وسلم Companions, Abu Bakr and Omar as well as Prophet Mohammad's صلى الله عليه وسلم wife, Aisha. Fortunately, Shia's Imam Mahdi is an imaginary, false character. Therefore, there will never be any person appearing in the future who will fulfil all the characteristics and signs of Shia's Imam Mahdi. Because in terms of the characteristics, Shia's Imam Mahdi and the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) resemble each other. That is why we fear that the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) when he appears later may be able to convince some of the Shia that he is the real Mahdi. Let us examine the appearance of these important individuals: 1. Signs and Events preceding the Mahdi This includes: (a) general signs, (b) the reign of the Sufyani (or two Sufyanis), (c) black banners from the East, (d) conquest of Jerusalem and Israel by Muslims. Up to two thirds of World's people may die before the Mahdi appears: one third due to wars and one third due to natural disasters. Major sectarian violence between Sunni Muslims and the Shia is likely to occur during this period. One or more Shia leaders, at least one of them is going to be from Bani Hashem, the family clan of prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم will appear and cause lots of massacres against Sunni Muslims. One of these Shia leaders will conquer Israel. On the other hand, two Sunni Muslim leaders, referred to in books of Hadith as Sufyani, who are tough and rough, will cause massacres against the Shia and Bani Hashem. The second Sufyani will drive the Shia out of Palestine. After the Mahdi is given Bay'a in Mecca, the second Sufyani will send an army to attack the Mahdi. 2. The appearance of the Mahdi will be given allegiance as a Caliph of Muslims. There might be more than one Mahdi or Leader; Muslims could be governed by a series of Caliphs, one of them is Al-Mahdi. 3. Other Events around the time of the Mahdi(s) This includes: (a) internal fighting & bloodshed in the Muslim World, (b) invasions by the Turks (Russians), Andalusians, and Abyssinians (Ethiopians & East Africans), (c) Muslims' conquest of India, etc. 4. Three Roman (European) Invasions of the lands of Muslims During a period of treaty, the Romans & Muslims will form an alliance and together invade enemies. The treaty will be broken by the Romans who will launch a massive third (& final) invasion of the land of Muslims. The Romans will be defeated. Constantinople (a major city of the Europeans) & Rome will be conquered by the Muslims. 5. After Constantinople & Rome are conquered, the Anti-Christ (Dajjal) will appear. The Anti-Christ, with the support of evil Jews, may gain control of Jerusalem. The period of the Anti-Christ will be full of trials & tribulations. 6. Finally, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) will return to Earth (the second coming) by descending from Heaven. He will kill the Anti-Christ in Lud, Israel. Then, Gog & Magog will attack the Muslims. So, God will inspire to Jesus to ask the Muslims to go to Tur mountains and he will ask God to get rid of Gog & Magog. Jesus will eventually be able to bring the remaining Christians and Jews to follow Islam.
4. Important Events in the End of Time A. Clear View of the End of Time an excellent book by Muhammad ibn Gary (a convert to Islam) B. The End of Israel in 2022 An amazing book by Bassam Jarrar about the end of Israel, predicting that it will most likely happen in 2022 AD (1443 H), based on numerical analysis of the Quran. C. زوال إسـرائيل عام 2022م (This is the original Arabic version of Bassam Jarrar's book mentioned above) D. The Vanishing of the State of Israel in 2023 An important booklet published in www.haridy.com predicting the end of Israel to be in 2023. This conclusion almost coincides with Bassam Jarrar's conclusion. The following is a summary of the main conclusions the author of this booklet has reached, based on the analysis of the Quran as presented in the booklet: 1. The number 666 mentioned in the Bible refers to the U.S. The author also believes that the U.S. is the second powerful Aad kingdom/empire prophesied in the Quran. 2. The end of the U.S. as we know it today will be in 2017 or 2018, possibly by Khusf (land collapse which could be due to an asteroid hitting the U.S.). 3. Israel will be conquered in 2023 by a ruthless Muslim leader coming from Iraq. The author of this booklet believes this leader will be the Sufyani. 4. The Sufyani will later attack the Mahdi, but his army will be devastated by a Khusf (landslide or something with leaves major impact of the land) near Mecca. Then, the Mahdi will take over Jerusalem and make it the seat of the Islamic Caliphate. The Mahdi will be 35 years old when he appears around 2022-2023 and will rule around 7 years (based on a Hadith). After the Mahdi's death, Jesus will become the leader of the Muslims. The author believes that the man called Ancient of Days in Daniel 7: 9-14 of the Bible is the Mahdi.
5. The Mahdi will agree to a truce with the Europeans during which the Muslims and Europeans will form an alliance and defeat China, with the help of God who will cause Khusuf (land collapse) in China.
6. Then, a dispute between the Muslim and Europeans will arise and the Europeans will attack the Muslims. The Muslims will defeat the Europeans and will conquer Constantinople and Europe.
7. Then, the Anti-Christ will emerge.
8. Then, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) may descend from Heaven around 2030, kill the Anti-Christ. Jesus with the Muslims will defeat the Anti-Christ's army.
9. After the defeat of Anti-Christ's army, Gog and Magog will attack the Muslims. Jesus will retreat with the Muslims to Mount Sinai. God will get rid of Gog and Magog.
10. Jesus will rule for 40 years (based on a Hadith) and therefore, he may die around 2070.
11. Then, a pleasant wind will take the souls of the believers, in what can be referred to as rapture.
12. Only the worst among people will remain for an unknown number of years and then the Last Day (Hour) occurs.
E. The next Pope and next U.S. President are likely to be the last Our predictions ! F. Signs & Events in the End Times according to the Shia According to a book written by a Shia researcher, Jaber Bolushi, the appearance of the Mahdi will be in 2015, descent from Heaven of Jesus will be in 2018, the emergence of the Anti-Christ will be in 2019, Armageddon & end of Israel will be in 2022. G. Nuaim bin Hammad's book, Kitab Al-Fitan This book contains the largest collection of Hadith and narrations about the End of Time (Battles, Mahdi, Fitan, etc.). The author is the one of teachers of Al-Bukhari, author of Sahih Bukhari. However, many of the Hadiths & Athar in this book are considered weak. H. Fitan (Fitnas) Strifes, trials and Tribulations in the End Times. I. Al-Tariq Star which is mentioned in the Quran and we believe it may appear before the Mahdi. Al-Qahtani, a Muslim researcher, has analyzed Surah Al-Tariq of the Quran. This Surah also details the development of the embryo in the mother's womb. Al-Qahtani believes there is a good reason for God to talk about Al-Tariq Star and the development of the embryo in the same Surah. Al-Qahtani's hypothesis is that the new re-birth, hope, and salvation of this Muslim nation will mimic the the development of the embryo ending with child birth. He believes Al-Tariq Star will appear in the month of Ramadan. Four months later, around the beginning of month of Muharram, Al-Mahdi will be given allegiance in Ka'ba, Mecca, similar to the time period it takes an embryo to receive the soul and becomes a living human. The appearance of Al-Tariq Star will cause lots of changes in the atmosphere, famines, and natural disasters. It will cripple the communication systems and war technologies. This will enable the Sufyani, an Arab Muslim leader to conquer Israel. Then, 5 months later, the army of Sufyani coming to attack Al-Mahdi experiences Khusf (Land Collapse) near Mecca and consequently, the Mahdi will become the Caliph of Muslims. So, the whole process from the appearance of al-Tariq Star until the Mahdi becomes the Caliph takes 9-months, similar to the 9-month period it takes from the time a woman becomes pregnant until the time she give birth. J. Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has prophesied that the Euphrates River will recede and uncover a mountain of gold This prophecy is in the process of being fulfilled. The Euphrates River is receding ! K. Discoveries of Treasures & Religious Relics Muslims are expected to find the Ark of the Covenant, Holy Grail, original Torah and Gospel, in addition to discovering treasures.
5. What is the sequence of events? The following Hadiths present the sequence of events: Mu'az ibn Jabal narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Omran (Re-construction after Israel falls) of Jerusalem will be (lead to) Halak (the pillaging and devastation) of Yathrib (Madina in Saudi Arabia). The pillaging of Yathrib will be (lead to) the outbreak of the Big Battle (with the Romans). The outbreak of the Big Battle will be (lead to) the conquest of Constantinople. The conquest of Constantinople will be (lead to) the coming of Dajjal (Anti-Christ). Then, ... said: This is as real as you (Mu'az ibn Jabal) are here or you are sitting." (Abu Dawud) Jaber bin Samra based on Nafi bin Otba reports that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " ...You will marsh against (or attack) the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open (conquer) it, then Persia and Allah will open (conquer) it. Then, you will marsh against (attack) the Romans' land and Allah will open (or conquer) it. Then, you will marsh against (attack) the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) (or Dajjal's land), and Allah will open (conquer) it." Then, Nafi said (to Jaber): "O' Jaber, we will not see the Dajjal emerge until the Romans' land has been conquered (by Allah for the Muslims)." (Sahih Muslim and Ibn Majah)
6. When will the early signs start to occur ? As we have indicated above, Israel will most likely end in 2022-2023 (1444 Hijri). For more information about this event, click on The Fall of Israel in 2022 . There are signs that are expected to precede the Mahdi, so it possible that these signs start to appear 7 years before the Mahdi, meaning as early as 2015. Many Christians are predicting that Jesus will return in 2015-2018. We do not think Jesus is likely appear in 2015-2018 because according to various Hadiths, Jesus will appear after the Anti-Christ, and the Anti-Christ is supposed to appear after Constantinople is conquered. However, we believe that we are going to see the early signs that precede the Mahdi will start to appear in 2015 - 2018 period. To learn what is special about 2015-2018 period click here. There are two possibilities regarding the timing of the return of Jesus: (a) If Muslims will be ruled by a series of Caliphs at the end of time, not just the Mahdi, it is possible Jesus may return more than 30 - 50 years after 2022. or (b) If Muslims will be ruled only by the Mahdi, who is likely to appear around 2022-2023 and rule for 7 years, we can expect Jesus (peace be upon him) to descend from Heaven around 2030. After Jesus returns, he may rule the World for about 40 years and then die. Then, a pleasant wind will take the souls of all the remaining Believers in Allah and this may be referred to as the Rapture. After this wind, only the UnBelievers will remain on Earth and they may live for an unknown number of years until the Day of Resurrection occurs.
7. The end of the U.S. The end of the U.S. will most likely occur in 2015-2018 period based on several considerations, including: (a) We have done our own calculations based on number 19 which is a very special significance in the Quran and concluded that the next U.S. presidency will be the last. The next U.S. presidency, under normal circumstances should end in January 20, 2017. Practically speaking, that means 2016 is the last year of the presidency. (b) The book mentioned above predicting Israel's end in 2023, based on analysis of Quran, predicts that the U.S. will end in 2017 or 2018. A possible scenario could be that God will bring at least one major natural disaster on the U.S., such as earthquake or an asteroid may hit the U.S. causing a Land Collapse. Once this catastrophe happens, Russia and/or China would launch a surprise nuclear or biological attack against the U.S. Russia/China will be successful in the attack and destroy the U.S. Huzaifa bin Usaid Al-Ghifari reported: Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم came to us all of a sudden as we were talking. He said: "What are you discussing?" We said: "We are talking about the Last Hour." Thereupon, he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "It will not come until you see ten signs before it, he made a mention of ... and Khusuf (Land Collapse) will occur in three places: one in the East, one in the West and one in Arabian Peninsula..." (Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad) Most likely, the Khusf (Land Collapse) in the West of the Earth will be in the U.S. The Khusf (Land Collapse) expected to happen in the East will most likely be in China. The Khusf (Land Collapse) in Arabia could be the one that is expected to occur when the Sufyani's army sent to attack Al-Mahdi experiences a devastating Khusf near Mecca.
8. China's Aspirations & End
China regards the U.S., Japan and Russia as its main competitors and enemies, but it will try to conquer them, one at a time. So, for example, China may enter into an alliance with Russia initially, but it may eventually attempt to conquer Russia. We expect that China will attack, defeat, and conquer the U.S. and Japan (and perhaps Russia). China may also conquer Canada because it has a huge land, with very valuable natural resources, yet it is weak militarily. China is already planning for such wars. There is some possibility that China could be Gog & Magog.
As we have explained above, there is a Hadith of Prophet Mohammad stating there will be Khusf in the East. We believe it will occur most likely in China.
Furthermore, another Hadith tells us that there is will an alliance between Muslims & the Europeans against a common enemy, behind them. We believe this common enemy is either China or Russia. The Muslims & the Europeans will be victorious against this common enemy.
9. The Defeat of Russia
There are many Hadiths that state that Turks will invade the lands of Muslims in the End Times. Today, most Turks are Muslims. The Hadiths indicate that the Turks who will invade are non-Muslims. It is likely that these Turks are Russians or Americans. Russia did not exist at the time when the time of Prophet Mohammad, that is why he may have used the term Turks to refer to people of a new country that will appear in the future, which could be Russia or the U.S.
Russia has a significant Muslim population. Some statistics claim that 40% of Russian army are Muslims. Russia could be taken over or defeated by Muslims alone or by an alliance between Muslims & Europeans. Unlike the U.S. and China, we feel that Russia will not be annihilated. The Russians will eventually convert to Islam.
10. Signs of the Day of Resurrection based on Sunni Sources A. Minor Signs The Minor Signs are expected to occur in the End Times. Generally speaking, the Minor Signs either: (a) precede the beginning of the Major Signs, or (b) occur after the beginning of the Major Signs, but they are not significant enough to warrant classifying them as Major Signs. No single Hadith lists all the minor signs, but there are hundreds of minor signs mentioned in hundreds of Hadiths. These Hadiths do not usually mention that they are Minor Signs. On the other hand, there are Hadiths that mention all of the Major Signs. So, we can classify as Minor Signs, those signs not listed among the Major signs. Most of the Minor Signs have been fulfilled. The remaining few Minor Signs which have not been fulfilled yet include: (1) Major Earthquakes, Famines, Asteroids, and Epidemic diseases. Some of these Epidemic diseases could be intentionally produced and spread by evil powers, as a form of biological weapons. (2) Euphrates River (which passes through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq) will uncover a mountain of gold (meaning something very valuable). This is in the process of being fulfilled, click here for details. (3) The return of the Arabs' land (Arabian Peninsula) to being green pastures and rivers, instead of its current condition as a desert. Based on Abu Huraira, Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " The Hour (of Resurrection) will not come..... until the land of the Arabs (Arabian Peninsula) returns to being pastures ("paradises" according to Musnad Ahmad) and rivers." (Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad). This means we should expect a major change in World climate. (4) Lake of Tiberias in Palestine (also known as Sea of Galilee) will dry up. This prophecy and sign is in the process of being fulfilled. The water in the Sea of Galilee is drying up.
The Shia's Books mention two more signs: (a) The Construction of Two Bridges: The Shia believe the first bridge could be the bridge that connects Saudi Arabia to Bahrain which was completed in 1986. The second bridge they expect it to be the proposed bridge that will connect Saudi Arabia to Egypt. So far, Egypt has rejected the construction of such a bridge under pressure from Israel and the U.S. On the other hand, construction of a bridge connecting Qatar to Bahrain is expected to start this year, in 2010 and to be completed within 4-5 years. (b) The Death of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia (we wish him long life): In their books, the Shia attribute a Hadith to Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم (Shia claim it used to be reported in Musnad Ahmad, but was later removed) in which he mentions that the last man who will govern Al-Hijaz (the region that includes Mecca & Medina) before the Mahdi will be called Abdullah and he will be the successor of his brother who is named by the name of an animal. The previous king of Saudi Arabia was King Fahd (Fahd means leopard). It is worth noting that King Abdullah is currently 84 years old.
B. Major Signs The major signs of the Day of Resurrection are mentioned in several Hadiths. The following Hadith is one of them (the signs in this Hadith do not necessarily have to occur in the same order mentioned in this Hadith): Huzaifa bin Usaid Al-Ghifari reported: Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم came to us all of a sudden as we were talking. He said: "What are you discussing?" We said: "We are talking about the Last Hour." Thereupon, he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "It will not come until you see ten signs before it, he made a mention of the Smoke, the Dajjal (Anti-Christ), the Daabba, the Rising of the Sun from the West, the Descent of Jesus Son of Mary عليه السلام (from Heaven), the emergence of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog & MaGog), and Khusuf (Land Collapse) will occur in three places: one in the East, one in the West and one in Arabian Peninsula. At the end, a Fire would burn forth from Yemen (or from Aden according to Ahmad), which would drive people to the place of their final assembly (before they get resurrected by God)." (Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad) 2. Shia's Imam Mahdi is likely to be the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) 5. Gog & Magog 6. Three Land Collapses (one in the East of the World, one in the West of the World, and one in Arabian Peninsula) 7. Maskh, Khusf, and Qazf Some Muslims will experience the following: Maskh (change in physical appearance such as a human becoming an animal), Khusf (landslide), and Qazf (bombardment). 8. Rising of the Sun from the West (instead of rising as usual from the East) This sign is a very important because after this sign occurs, God will no longer accept declarations of faith, belief in God, or repentance. 9. The Daabba (referred to in the Bible as The Beast) This creature designates every person on the face of the Earth visibly either as a Believer or UnBeliever. 10. The Smoke 11. The Pleasant Wind (This is what is known in the Bible as "The Rapture") It will take the souls of all the remaining Believers. After this wind, only the UnBelievers will remain on Earth. 12. The Destruction of the Ka'ba 13. The Fire 14. The Final Moments & the Trumpet
